NHCA Announces new Chief Value-Based Strategy Officer, David Friend, MD, MBA
We are thrilled to announce David Friend, MD, MBA, as our Chief Value-Based Strategy Officer.
Dr. Friend brings a unique depth of healthcare experience, pairing his interdisciplinary expertise in clinical strategy and business acumen.
A nationally recognized leader in healthcare transformation, he has guided teams for over 30 years in various executive leadership roles, serving major organizations in restructuring, innovation, turnarounds, and digital health care.
Most recently, he served as the Chief Advisor of Restructuring, Post-Acute Care, and Hospice/Homecare at SCALE Physician Group, where he led physician groups in improving efficiency and performance. Formerly, he was the Co-Founder and Chief Transformation Officer at BDO Center for Healthcare Excellence & Innovation.
As Chief Value-Based Strategy Officer, Dr. Friend will provide oversight of value-based care programs to ensure high-quality patient outcomes and heightened relationships with referral partners, positioning NHCA as the premier post-acute partner of choice.
Dr. Friend is currently on the advisory board of The Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at The University of Pennsylvania. He received his MD from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, his MBA from The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania, and his BA in Economics, from Brandeis University.
